This service is provided to Hamilton East Public Library cardholders as well as others who need local information which can be answered by resources unique to our collection, such as genealogy and local history. The goal of Ask Us Online is to answer questions within 24 hours, excluding weekends, holidays or days when the library is closed.

• The Reference Department can answer questions such as:

  • How can I get a copy of legal documents?
  • Can you recommend some resources for...?
  • Please add this material...
  • Contact the Reference Department to place a hold on adult materials.
• The Circulation Department handles questions about your library account such as:
  • Checkouts
  • Fines
  • Overdues
  • Picking up or removing holds.
• The Outreach Department schedules various programs and classes, and handles booking of the meeting rooms.
• The Youth Services Department handles:
  • All the children's programs
  • All the Teen and Young Adult programs
  • Recommend appropriate library materials for children and young adults.

• If you wish to borrow items from another library select interlibrary loan in the dropdown menu below.
• Questions concering the HEPL Literacy Program should go to Literacy.
• Only questions or comments concerning the design and functionality of this website should go to the webmaster.

• If you are requesting to have material renewed you must include your Library card number and the item(s) to be renewed.
• If you are requesting material be placed on hold for you, we have to have your Library card number, which library you would like to pick it up at and as much information about the material as possible.
• If you want to know if we have a particular item, you can search our collection with the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
