The library has planned exciting Summer Reading Programs for all ages, and the Friends of the Library are pleased to be able to partner with the library to sponsor some wonderful prizes and events.  The Friends approved $3000 for the purchase of high quality books for the youth Summer Reading Program, $850 for treats for the Summer Reading Program finale at the Fishers Library, $600 for gift baskets for selected participants in the new adult Summer Reading Program and $5000 for a visit by an author that teens will help to select. 

We also purchased and planted geraniums in the two large planters at the Fishers Library.

 

Friends Book Shops

As those of you who shop frequently in our book shops have undoubtedly noticed, our offerings vary from week to week.  The offerings depend on our donations.  We think we have a good business plan in that we accept your donations and turn them around for others to enjoy via our book shops.  We are all volunteers and the library generously provides space for us to conduct our business.  Our proceeds are then used by the library to support programs.  All of this works quite nicely as long as we have a steady flow of your gently used books.  This is a perfect time to do some spring cleaning, with a focus on the books shelves.

The book shops are located just inside the entrance at each building, but we still hear that people are unaware that the shops exist. 

The Fishers Book Shop is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Books and videos located on the shelves right outside the Book Shop are available for purchase all hours the library is open and payments may be made at the Circulation Desk.

The Noblesville Book Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., plus Wednesday 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  There is no ongoing sale at the Noblesville Library.

You do not have to be a Friends’ member to purchase items from the book shops.  However, new members are always welcome and a one year individual membership is only $5, a one year family membership is just $10!
