There are several ways to volunteer with Literacy and Tutoring at Hamilton East Public Library.

As part of our Community Education Outreach, HEPL has programs that work with non native English Speakers as well as adults wanting to learn to read. To be part of this program, fill out an application online or a HEPL Volunteer Application and specify, Literacy Tutors. These are adult volunteers only, no minors.

If you are interested in virtual volunteering and social networking, we offer Intercambio, Intercambio means, interchange. We celebrate the interchange of language and culture. You don't need to know a second/additional language. You set your own schedule with a partner. Mostly, you have fun! You can visit this volunteer opportunity at http://grou.ps/intercambio/home

If you are a National Honor Society Student, or a student interested in tutoring students your age or younger, visit the Youth Services Department in either building and drop off your card and subjects for our Youth Tutor Binders.

We have a specific need for adult literacy tutors and volunteers who have experience in Special Education.
