Allen County Public Library: This department's renowned collection contains more than 350,000 printed volumes and 513,000 items of microfilm and microfiche, a dream come true for genealogists.
Ancestry: This site features Ancestry's Genealogy Search Engine, the World Wide Web's largest and fastest-growing collection of completely searchable genealogy data. Although this site requires a membership fee, some searchable databases are free to all that visit.
Cyndi's List: Boasts over 265,350 links to genealogical sites, categorized and cross-referenced.
Ellis Island Immigration Database: This searchable database contains arrival records for 22 million immigrants who entered the port of New York from 1892 to 1924. It includes immigrant's names, their port of origin, age, nationality, hometown, and marital status. This site is a wonderful research resource for tracking ancestors who entered the U.S. through Ellis Island.
FamilySearch Internet Genealogy Service: Allows you access to extensive genealogical resources gathered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Federal Land Patent Records: A source of information on the initial transfer of land titles from the Federal government to individuals. In addition to verifying title transfer, this information will allow the researcher to associate an individual with a specific location in time.
Find-a-grave: Search millions of grave records including most of the cemeteries in Hamilton County.
GenForum: A message board for various surnames. You may post a query or view queries for various surnames.
Hoosier Heritage: A list of Indiana public libraries, genealogical and historical societies searchable by county.
Indiana Genealogical Society: Indiana Genealogical Society website.
Indiana Historical Society: Although the site may not provide specific family histories, the research opportunities at the society will provide historical background for the time period and location of your ancestors.
Indiana State Library Genealogy: Houses one of the major collections of genealogy and local history in the Midwest. It includes the Indianapolis Public Library's extensive genealogy collection begun in the 1890s and the current collection dating from 1934. The emphasis in the collection is on Indiana and the states from which Indiana was settled: the Eastern Seaboard, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. There are however holdings from the entire US and several foreign countries.
IndianaGen Web: This site serves a collection point for any Indiana queries, look-ups, and genealogies in any county in the state.
RootsWeb: The RootsWeb project makes large volumes of data available to the online genealogical community and provides support services to online genealogical activities such as USENET newsgroup moderation, mailing list maintenance, surname list generation, etc.
The USGenWeb Project: Consists of a group of volunteers working together to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States, the project is non-commercial and fully committed to free access for everyone. Organization is by county and state, and this website provides you with links to all the state websites which, in turn, provide gateways to the counties.
WorldGenWeb Project: The goal of the WorldGenWeb Project is to have every country in the world represented by an online website and hosted by researchers who either live in their own country or who are familiar with their country's resources.
