Youth Services programs
Registration is required for most Youth Services Programs. You may register from the program calendar on this website.
  • Nursery Time - Programs consist of activities such as finger plays, nursery rhymes and songs, stories from board books, and a simple craft. Ages newborn to two years old. A parent or caregiver is required to attend. Registration required.

  • Toddler Time - Programs consist of activities such as finger plays and songs, stories from board books, and a simple craft. Ages infant to four years old. A parent or caregiver is required to attend. Registration required.

  • Story Time - Programs consist of stories from picture books and a simple craft. Ages four years old through six years old independent of parent or caregiver. Children should be capable of listening to three or four stories and completing craft without much assistance. Registration required.

  • Early Literacy Programs - Parent/child workshops that teach the six basic skills a child needs to learn how to read. For ages newborn through six years old. Registration required.

  • Primary School Age Programs - Programs consist of stories, crafts, and activities on a theme. Designed for children in first through fourth grade. Parents are required to stay nearby. Registration required.

  • Intermediate School Age Programs - Programs consists of stories, crafts, and activities on a theme. Designed for children in fourth through sixth grade.

  • Create-a-Story - Children learn to tell, write, draw, or craft stories based on characters from books. Ages four years old through eight years old. Registration required.

  • Your Curious Kid and You - "Your Curious Kid and You" is offered as a family program for preschoolers and their families on Saturdays at Fishers.

  • Summer Reading Program - This program runs for an eight week period in June and July and is open to all ages of readers. Everyone, from babies to adults, has the opportunity to read to collect prizes and words of encouragement. There is no advance registration for this program.

  • Computer Classes - We offer free classes on various topics including Windows, Macintosh, Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Excel. Follow this link for Course descriptions

  • Literacy Program - This is the only program of its kind in central Indiana, offering one-on-one tutoring, adult basic education, English literacy/English as a second language, life skills and GED tutoring.

  • Mobile Outreach Services - Homebound delivery and onsite programming.

  • HEPL Happenings newsletter - Published every two months.
