At Hamilton East Public Library, we love to get out in the community and visit with you outside our buildings! We enjoy meeting you where you are already spending your time in our community. This summer, you’ll find us at a variety of events with activities, giveaways, short art projects, surprises, and information about the library. We also offer library card registration/renewal at select events.
A few of the events we will attend – farmers markets and visits to parks – are listed below. You’ll also find us at community events, like Spark! Fishers, Nickel Plate Arts’s Hatch Fest, StoryWalk reveals at Fishers Parks, back to school events, and much more! Outdoor events may be cancelled if bad weather is predicted.
You’ll also be able to learn about and register for HEPL’s All Together Now Summer Reading Program! Summer Reading is for all ages. We invite you to challenge yourself to meet your reading or listening goals. You can earn points and prizes not only for reading or listening to audiobooks, but also by participating in activities. There’s a secret code you can use to earn bonus points for Summer Reading if you can find us while we are out in the community! Just look for the HEPL tent!
At some of the farmers markets, you’ll get to meet Ignite Studio’s newest Maker-in-Residence Addie Hirschten, a contemporary impressionist painter, storyteller, author, and former children’s librarian. We’ll bring a community art project that you can participate in, which will be displayed in Ignite. Look for the asterisk (*) next to the events Addie will attend.
