I Loved this Book! What Should I Read Next?

We have all been there. You’ve finished a series or a book that blew you away. You laughed, you cried, and now you’re hungry for more! Maybe you are a parent, on the hunt for your child’s next great read. Luckily the library has a convenient tool that will let you search for books that are similar to ones your child already loves, often called read-a-likes. NoveList K-8 Plus is a comprehensive reading resource for fiction and nonfiction.
With its fun and intuitive interface, and extensive feature content, NoveList K-8 Plus will help you integrate reading across the curriculum and support your young readers.You can find this useful database on our website by selecting Resources > Online Databases > Access All Databases A-Z and scrolling down until you find Novelist K-8. Or by clicking here.
So how does it work? Let’s pretend that your child just finished the Harry Potter series and is looking for more books like them. Type in Harry Potter into the search bar. Click on the tab “List and Articles” for quick reading lists that include Harry Potter. The first one is “If you like….Harry Potter.”
Click on the list to explore recommended reads! You can also use NoveList K-8 to explore books in your child’s recommended reading range, genre interest, grade and age level. You can even search for books by mood and writing style.
