Infrastructure Improvements at our Libraries are Underway

If you have visited or driven by our Fishers and Noblesville libraries lately, you have noticed the initial renovation work required to maintain our buildings into the future and improve access for all. Our libraries will remain open during regular hours throughout the construction unless posted differently on our web page here or our lobby doors.

Renovation Updates

Fishers Library
Renovation to redesign the north entrance to become our new 2-story main entrance is underway. Construction of the north and east parking lots is progressing to improve traffic flow, add parking spaces and integrate the south entrance with the Nickel Plate Trail. In the coming week, a construction barrier will go up in the study room area to fully close the construction zone.

Our Teen Zone entrance has been relocated. Teens can now enter the Teen Zone through a new, temporary entrance located just past the Youth Services entrance through the main lobby. We expect to keep Teen Zone in this location throughout the summer but will eventually need to relocate the collections as renovations in that space are completed.

Outdoors, the construction fence around the east and north parking lots is installed for the site work to replace our parking lots, expand parking spaces, and improve traffic flow.

Additional overflow parking for all visitors is available throughout the Nickel Plate District, shown in green on the map located below.

Ignite Studio is open during the renovation. While the north parking lot and Ignite entrance are blocked for construction, visitors can park in our south lot and enter through the main library entrance, then use the elevator or stairwell in the adult reference area to enter the Ignite.

Noblesville Library
Demolition on the north parking lot, the driveway to the loading dock, and the children’s outdoor space is progressing. It is anticipated that the reconfigured north parking lot will reopen in fall 2021, and work will begin on our front entrance and south parking lot.
