UPDATED: Notice to Taxpayers of Additional Appropriation

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the library district known as Hamilton East Public Library (the “Library”) that the Board of Trustees (the “Board of the Library will meet at the Noblesville Library, One Library Plaza, Noblesville, Indiana, at the hour of 4:15 p.m. (Local Time) on July 23, 2020, to consider the following additional appropriation of the bonds which the Board has determined to issue:

  • An appropriation in the maximum amount of $16,050,000 on account of the renovation of and improvements to Fishers Library, including site improvements and the purchase of real estate, equipment and technology, including the incidental expenses necessary to be incurred in connection with the project and the issuance of bonds on account thereof. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the issuance and sale of bonds by the Library.
  • An appropriation in the maximum amount of $16,050,000 on account of the renovation of and improvements to Noblesville Library, including site improvements and the purchase of real estate, equipment and technology, including the incidental expenses necessary to be incurred in connection with the project and the issuance of bonds on account thereof. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the issuance and sale of bonds by the Library.

The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary Library facilities in the Library district. Taxpayers of the Library district appearing at said meeting shall have the right to be heard in respect to said additional appropriation. In light of the changing circumstances as they relate to COVID-19 and the Indiana Governor’s Executive Orders regarding social distancing, please check the Library’s website prior to the scheduled hearing to receive up to date information about meeting logistics.

UPDATE:  This meeting may also be attended via Zoom. Comments regarding the additional appropriations submitted by July 23 at 4:15 pm will be read at the meeting.
