Join the HEPL community of readers this summer to log your reading during June and July, 2021! Enrolling in the Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program for Adults will earn readers a HEPL book tote. Teens, kids, toddlers and babies will earn a free book to keep just by enrolling. Read Books, Do Fun Activities & Earn E-Tickets

Once you have enrolled, log your reading or complete an activity to earn e-tickets to direct toward a chance to win the prize of your choice for each age group. You may earn a total of three e-tickets throughout the program; one for a total of 600 pages or minutes, one for a cumulative total of 1200 pages or minutes, and one for completing an activity. The prize drawing for each age group will be held at the end of the program and winners will be notified by email.

Join the Community Challenge

Last year, HEPL readers finished the summer with a total of 2.5 million pages/minutes (one page = one minute)! Let’s beat last year’s best by increasing that impressive number for 2021. If overall reading surpasses 2.5 million pages/minutes all readers who logged during the summer will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a $250 Amazon gift card at the end of the program.

Enjoy Special Programs

During the months of June and July, special programs will be held to complement the Tails and Talestheme. Look for Fins, Furs, and Feathers: A-List Animals, a virtual program for adults, on June 5th.  Hedgehog Hannah and other animal friends will join us virtually to entertain families in July. Teens will have the opportunity to enjoy Teen Yoga with Goats this summer! Check HEPL’s events calendar regularly to see what programs are on the summer menu. Watch us on YouTube to enjoy virtual programs and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for up-to-date information.

Try a DIY Activity

Ignite Studio at the Fishers Library will be offering Tails and Tales related DIY activity packs during June and July. Pick up a pack to make a Book Tails book mark in June or an articulated animal in July.

Support our Community Partner

Several Summer Reading Program badge activities support the Humane Society for Hamilton County this year. HEPL will collect Hamilton Humane wish list items at our Summer Reading Program prize stations at both library locations during June and July. Find the wish list and discover other ways you can support the Humane Society for Hamilton County on their website.
