The Coincidence of Coconut Cake

The-Coincidence-of-Coconut-CakeThe Coincidence of Coconut Cake

By: Amy E. Reichert

If you happen to follow my book reviews, you’ll notice I have a soft spot for romance.  Lately, I’ve enjoy a side of recipes with my romance.  The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is a new romance novel by Amy E. Reichert.  Reichert blends a modern love story with enough foodie recommendations to last a life time.

The story follows Lou, a Milwaukee native struggling to keep her restaurant afloat.  Her love of family recipes and her restaurant come second only to her fiancé.  When Lou delivers his favorite birthday cake, she makes an unpleasant discovery that ends their engagement.  Unfortunately she has no time to grieve as her restaurant suffers a setback.

Across town, a food critic named Al is bored with his current assignment and location.  He’s looking for more than he feels Milwaukee can offer.  He decides to delve into his current restaurant review, and his words are blistering.  For as harsh as the review is, it’s his most popular one yet.  Al goes out on the town to celebrate, and that’s when he meets Lou.  The pair strike up conversation, and she vows to turn him into a Milwaukee foodie.  Their friendship grows with time, and of course develops into more.

This is an engaging read with a lot of heart.  You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll devour every last word!
