Meet the Sinclair family: rich, eccentric and beautiful.  The family convenes every summer on their private island off Martha’s Vineyard to drink too much, fight over who will get granddad’s money and play the game of being the “favorite grandchild.” The Liars to which the title refers are the cousins Johnny, Mirren and Cadence along with a passionately, political outsider named Gat Patil.

Something happens on the island during Cadence’s 15th summer that leaves her with total amnesia and debilitating migraines. In her quest to remember, she returns to the island for answers only to find that no one will talk. No one will tell her what happened to her on the island, but something has changed!

We Were Liars is a well-told story with a clever plot and a shocking twist at the end that you won’t see coming! The ending really makes this book fantastic!
