14 Jul What’s Cooking @ HEPL: Ep 07
By: Heidi Herald
Welcome back to What’s Cooking @ HEPL! I am Heidi Herald, a Public Services Librarian at Hamilton East Public Library. I will be reviewing one of the library’s cookbooks each month. To celebrate the 2022 Summer Reading theme—Oceans of Possibilities—I selected a classic seafood cookbook to try. I really enjoyed the recipes I tried from The New York Times Seafood Cookbook. The cookbook offers a wide array of recipes for all kinds of seafood. Due to budget and other restraints, I selected fish recipes to try.
I really enjoyed the Wok-Cooked Fish and Napa Cabbage with Chilies. It was very flavorful and spicy!
Thai Fish Cakes (Tod Mun Pla) is pictured to the left. This is served with sweet peanut-chili dipping sauce. It was delicious!
This dish below is intended to be made with halibut. However, I substituted flounder to bring down the cost. Broiled Halibut (Flounder) with Miso Glaze is pictured here. It is served with bok choy and steamed rice.
Finally, in the video below I make White Bean, Fennel, and Tuna Salad – a healthy, super easy, and delicious recipe!Watch Episode 7 Here
I hope you will borrow The New York Times Seafood Cookbook from our library collections! It is available in print. Happy Eating!
