Getting Started

If you access our online databases while at the library, just click on the database you are interested in and begin exploring. If you are using a computer outside the library, you will get an OCLC login screen that will ask for a username (your library card number) and password (your library card PIN). Due to contractual agreements, not all borrower accounts may be able to access these resources from outside the library, in which case we encourage you to visit the library to use our computers.

If you encounter problems the first time you attempt to log in, please clear your browser’s cookies and try again.

Update on the OverDrive & Libby Apps

Attention, OverDrive app users! OverDrive is discontinuing the legacy OverDrive app in early 2023 and transitioning users to the Libby app. Libby is OverDrive’s newer app for browsing and enjoying digital content from your library.

It’s time to give Libby a try! All your loans, holds, and wish list items will be waiting for you in Libby when you add your library card.

Libby also comes with new features we know you’ll love, like:
• Tags to categorize books however you’d like—you can even sync your OverDrive wish list into a tag!
• A central bookshelf for all loans and holds
• Customizable notifications for ready holds, new magazine issues, and more
• Compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Sonos speakers
• Easy access to OverDrive support staff

Learn more here.

Because Amazon has not yet accepted Team OverDrive’s submission of the Libby app to the Amazon Appstore, the OverDrive app will remain available for Kindle Fire users to download and access until further notice. Users with Kindle Fire devices can also sideload Libby manually by following these steps.

Note: Our library’s digital collection will continue to be available at https://hepl.overdrive.com/ on desktop and mobile devices.

Freegal Music

Card holders can download five music selections per week absolutely free with an additional three hours of streaming. Songs are downloaded in an MP3 format (compatible with everything), so they can be saved to any computer, mobile device or MP3 player, including an iPod. There are no digital rights management restrictions, and no special software is required. (Please note, your new week begins at 12:01 a.m. on Monday.)
