What’s New in 2022?

Are you up for a new and revamped challenge? We’ve got you covered! Participants in the Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading program will have a chance to explore our new summer points style program! Some examples include anything from visiting our databases on the HEPL website to seeing us in person at a library event or at a community outreach site.

Once you have enrolled, start reading or exploring our activities to earn points! You can earn points by logging pages, minutes, days read, writing reviews, and completing activities. It’s truly a choose your own adventure style program!

Read, Log, and Win Prizes!

Prizes for every age category are tied to points badges at 25, 50, 75 and 100 points. For Babies through Teen, participants will earn a FREE book when they reach the 50-point level, halfway through the program. Babies through Kids will earn a choice of either a small prize or an e-ticket to deposit in a prize ballot box for every other point level. Teens will earn e-tickets and a small prize. Adults will earn e-tickets throughout the program and receive a HEPL Beach Buddy Mat when they complete their program. The grand finale prize drawings for each age group will be held at the end of the program and winners will be notified by email. In addition to the grand prize drawings, those who log every week will automatically be entered to win a weekly gift card!

Enroll in the Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program through your Beanstack account with HEPL. If you already have an account, you need only enroll. If you are new to Beanstack take a minute to create an account for yourself and the readers in your household. Reading logged between June 1 and July 31, 2022 will count toward the program.

Join the Challenge

Last year, HEPL readers read over 3 million minutes! This year we are proposing a NEW community goal. We challenge readers to reach 600,000 points! Follow along on social media as our points tracker is updated throughout the summer.

Enjoy Special Programs

During the months of June and July, special programs will be held to complement the Oceans of Possibilities theme. Look for Chow + Chanties: An Oceans of Possibilities Experience, a musical culinary program for adults, on June 14th. Hedgehog Hannah and other animal friends will join us to entertain families on June 18. Teens and Adults can check out a Cool Career with our virtual “Aquarium Careers” program on June 28th at 5pm. Check HEPL’s events calendar regularly to see what programs are on the summer menu.

Drop In and Try Something New

Ignite Studio at the Fishers Library will be offering some exciting drop-in programs. Join Ignite on June 14th & 22nd from 10am-1pm to create your own Shadowbox Aquarium. On July 14th and 25th from 4:30pm-6:30pm try out a new type of fabric making with the drop-in Wet Felted Aquatic Scene program.

Enjoy Reading this Summer!
